Customer Reviews about Wortham Brent Dr

  • As a patient at Dr. Worthams office, I would like to say I am 100% satisfied with the results of the work that I've had done... ( 7 multi-surface fillings and one extraction). Dr. Wortham was very explanative, kind and light handed when performing procedures. His staff is very friendly and really seem to care for their patients. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a great dental experience!

Have had a few molars filled. Two lower left molars had filing before, and the chewing surface looked as if it is washed out. So the dentist decides to build the two teeth back up with more filing. A few days later, my upper teeth hurt badly, so I went in for adjustment. He trimmed both the upper and lower left molars. After that, I feel my right side is high, so that got trimmed down as well. All in all, I had like 4+ adjustments on I would say all my molars. Now, On the 3rd adjustment, I realized something is not right. When dentist made me bite down on the colored paper, I was laying down on the dental chair. In this position, the lower jaw tends to shift towards the back of my head. I said that this is not my natural bite position; he insisted that it is the correct way to do it. Make a long story short, now none of my molars touch. My front teeth would bang against each other, and the molars would not touch. The only way the molars would touch is if I lean my head backwards, and they would slightly touch. This has caused me a lot of frustration. The molars are not touching, so the jaw is constantly trying to make them touch, but it is not possible. Went back to the dentist and told him none of the molars are touching. So he put in a piece of colored paper, and tell me to bite down hard. Then, he said well, it is touching, b/c I can’t pull out the paper. That doesn’t mean anything, as the way the tooth bite down and the tooth’s shape would have held the paper lightly, even if the tooth are not touching at all. I am starting to develop TMJD like symptions, like pressure on both side of my head, ear aches, lower jaw aches etc. Makes me don’t even want to eat. What do I do now? Went to a second dentist, and he said I should have never had adjustment done on teeth that don’t have the filing, and that adjustments should only be done on the filing material itself, and not on real tooth structure. The second dentist say the molars should eventually grow back to where they would be touching, as tooth tends to want to meet its partner. But he said it can take 6 months, or longer, or even not growing back at all. The first dentist did tell me the bite adjustment he did was skeletal. Is that the same one as the Pankey Institute’s believe that there’s only one bite for everyone? That would be really wrong, as everyone have a different jaw, muscle, and teeth structures. What do I do now? I’ve never had TMJD problems before, and now I feel like living in hell.
